The high road is closed - Texas redraws their maps

News out of Texas shows Democrats fleeing the state to block a GOP power grab that would rig their elections.
We need more Democrats ready to fight like that.
The “when they go low, we go high” era belongs in a museum, alongside relics from a time when both sides still played by rules.
MAGA burned that rulebook.
They use every dirty trick and bad faith maneuver to win elections, seize the judiciary, and warp government until checks and balances are a shadow of what they were.
Texas is just the latest example.
The GOP there moved to ram through a mid-decade redistricting scheme to steal up to five Democratic House seats.
Texas Democrats left the state to block the vote.
In response, Trump’s allies sent the FBI to track them, issued arrest threats, and a bomb scare in Chicago forced those lawmakers out of their hotel.
That is the level of force and intimidation they are willing to deploy to cling to power.
But California Democrats answered with action.
They are preparing their own map redraw to erase Republican seats, making it clear that power grabs will be met with equal resolve.
That is the example every blue state should follow.
Waiting for fairness is not a strategy. Defending our seats and making GOP attacks costly is the only way to protect democracy.
Big blue states pour more tax money into Washington than they’ll ever see again.
That cash goes straight into red states where it props up MAGA politicians, funds their pet projects, and bankrolls laws that target blue-state voters.
It’s a closed loop of corruption: Democratic states send the money, MAGA uses it to get stronger, then they come after our votes and our voice even harder.
We are paying to fuel the very machine that’s trying to run us over.
What’s most shocking about all this is that my opponent ought to know better. Jack Bergman served 40 years in the United States Marines. He swore an oath to defend the Constitution, and that oath did not end when he retired and hung up his uniform.
Trump and his allies are dismantling the institutions Bergman pledged to protect, and he stays loyal to them anyway.
He aligns himself with a political movement built on gerrymandering, voter suppression, and government intimidation.
That’s why I’m in this race. This is a fight for the survival of our republic and it won’t be a polite one.
MAGA uses every tool at its disposal to lock in power, from manipulating district maps to threatening elected officials.
The answer is to meet their intensity with organized, disciplined, and like-for-like resistance.
We don’t have the luxury of upholding decorum or “taking the high road” when the stakes are this high. It is time to win.
