Jack Bergman defends Trump’s scam economy

Donald Trump wants you to believe tariffs are magic.
He jumps on Truth Social and brags that foreign countries are paying the bill while “cash pours into our Treasury.” |
Importers are paying more, and of course retailers are passing it along.
That’s how markets work. When you slap tariffs on goods, the people bringing them in pay extra.
Businesses won’t eat that cost out of charity, they tack it onto the price tag.
Now families in Northern Michigan are paying more for groceries, school supplies, and hardware while Trump brags that “foreign governments” are footing the bill.
The joke is on us, and my opponent Jack Bergman keeps laughing.
Economists keep showing the same thing: by fall, two-thirds of the tariff burden will land squarely on consumers.
Families already juggling heating bills, childcare, and medical expenses now have to swallow Trump’s “sneakflation” one slow price hike at a time.
When Amazon planned to tag products with a “Trump Tax” label so customers could see tariffs in action, Trump threatened them, and they backed off. Now every company is quietly raising prices without naming the reason why.Trump and Bergman need the waters muddied so families can’t pin the blame where it belongs. When the pressure builds, they hold up cherry-picked charts, shout “Joe Biden” a dozen times, and hope people stop asking real questions. It’s a con, and Bergman is part of the crew running it. He props up Trump’s scam while Northern Michigan families foot the bill.I will not rest while they keep this act going.Every county, every town, every door — people will know exactly who is profiting and who is paying.I will keep this campaign on the road until the confusion is gone, the excuses are stripped bare, and voters understand that Trump and Bergman sold them out for billionaire donors.
Bergman’s silence has already cost Northern Michigan families enough.
Together, we can build a government that fights for the people who actually punch a clock and pay bills.
