Answering the call our Founders imagined

In my travels on the campaign trail, sometimes folks ask me why I’m running for Congress when I’ve never held elected office before.
And here’s what I tell them:
Because that’s exactly what this seat was designed for.
The Founders didn’t imagine Congress as a place reserved for lawyers, business tycoons, and political insiders.
They wanted a government made up of farmers and tradesmen, teachers and builders, ordinary people who knew the cost of bread, the weight of a mortgage, and the meaning of hard work.
People who understood what it meant to live under the laws they helped write.
That’s what makes Congress different from any other branch.
It’s the most direct voice of the people. It’s where lived experience isn’t just allowed, it’s essential.
I grew up in a union household. My parents worked hard, paid their taxes, and raised our family with dignity. I’ve worked in manufacturing and design, I’ve rebuilt homes, and I’ve volunteered in housing and mental health.
I’ve seen what happens when policy fails to meet real life, and I’ve seen what good government can do when it listens to the people it serves.
I’m not running because I’ve spent years climbing a political ladder or chasing titles. I’m not running to park myself in a seat and vote however party leadership tells me.
I’m running because I believe in what this country was meant to be. Where decisions are made by folks who live among their constituents, not above them.
We talk a lot about liberty in this country. But real liberty isn’t about slogans or soundbites. It’s about being able to live a decent life. To work, to raise a family, to retire with security.
That’s what I want for every person in this district.
If that vision speaks to you, I’m asking for your help. |
We are building a grassroots campaign, one powered by working people, not corporate PACs or party elites.
Every contribution goes directly into action: knocking on doors, printing literature, showing up in communities across the district. It’s tangible, person-to-person work. And it’s how we win.
If you can, chip in today. Let’s build a Congress that reflects the people it serves.
Let’s get to work,
Wayne Stiles Democrat for Congress |
